"No help for missed connection and terrible hotels"
The disappointment and frustration with EF tours continues. My daughter’s group left yesterday (there were 4 girls Together on special requested travel so they were by themselves). First itinerary had a canceled flight so they were rebooked with an incredibly short layover through ORD. Needless to say they missed Their connection and EF basically provided no help! Called EF and was told they were aware and were working it and given a case number etc. Then got a text at 5:15 pm on friday saying “hope your first flight was great! We are off for the weekend call the emergency number if needed”. They knew they were going to miss their connection. The person at the number they were given told them to call the airlines and gave no other help. EF had over 6 hours from the time they knew the connection would be missed and it happened and did nothing! The girls then spent several hours in line and on phone at airport to resolve and rebook and parents also helped on the phone with airlines. Isn’t helping travelers their job?! Isn’t this what we paid for? Our girls handled it great but will miss their entire first day on location. Had EF done their job and proactively tried to help they most likely could have gotten to destination easier and faster.
EF has set my expectations pretty low so hopefully it will get better. Although I must say I was extremely disappointed to see all of their hotels are airport hotels! You don’t travel to Europe to be stuck 45
Minutes out of the city at a crappy big box airport hotel. Not to mention the additional time they will waste getting into the cities each day. It’s very obvious that EF is doing everything on the cheap and doesn’t truly care. I would never book again and am telling everyone to stay away from this company!

"Hotels were pleasantly surprising overall"
I actually thought the hotels on our EF tour were better than expected. They were clean, comfortable, and in convenient locations, which made getting around a lot easier. That said, one of the rooms was definitely on the small side, so it wasn’t perfect. But overall, I was happy with where we stayed.

"Helpful support, though not the fastest"
The support team did answer all my questions and was friendly about it. It just took a little longer than I expected to hear back. Compared to a few competitors I’ve used, the service felt more helpful and thorough, but not quite as quick. Overall, a good experience if you’re not in a huge rush.

"Food didn’t really meet my expectations"
The trip itself was fine overall, but the meals were disappointing. I’m not super picky, but I do have a certain standard when it comes to food, especially for what we paid. A lot of the dinners felt cheap and rushed, like plain pasta or dry chicken with barely anything on the side. A couple of meals were even cold by the time we got them. Breakfast was a bit better, but still very basic. I just expected the food quality to be a step up.

"Good tour director overall"
He did a good job keeping us mostly on track, even though I’ll admit I got a little mixed up on the timing here and there. I wasn’t always sure if we were running early, late, or exactly on schedule, but overall he kept things moving and made the tour feel organized

"Pretty easy little getaway"
We mostly just wanted something simple that wouldn’t turn into a whole expensive production, and this ended up being a nice option. Nothing felt overhyped or disappointing, and by the time it was over, I was glad we went. For what we paid, it felt like a good deal, and I don’t really have any regrets

"Flights were organized well"
Our flights with EF Tours went more smoothly than I expected. The timing actually made sense, and we weren’t sprinting through airports trying to make tight connections, which was one of my bigger worries before the trip.
The flight details were easy enough to follow, and when something changed, we found out quickly. Travel days are never exactly relaxing, but this part was handled well and took some stress off our plate.

Booking was simple overall, honestly. I found what I needed without much trouble, and the steps were mostly clear. The checkout part did take a bit longer than I expected though, which was kind of annoying. But yeah, aside from that, the whole thing was fine and not too stressful.

"Clear updates, though I wondered about the timing"
Overall, the emails were easy to understand and kept me in the loop. They were just a bit slow at times, and I did catch myself wondering if some updates were being held back until they had to share them. Still, nothing was confusing, and the communication was mostly fine.

"Great itinerary overall"
I really liked how the itinerary was planned. From my experience, trips are so much better when you’re not constantly rushing from one place to the next, and this one had a nice, relaxed pace while still covering plenty. Overall, it felt well thought out and easy to enjoy

The trip was put together well overall. There were a couple of delays here and there, but nothing too stressful since our group was always kept in the loop about what was going on. Made the whole experience feel easy enough to enjoy.

Getting around wasn’t much of a hassle. The buses showed up on time whenever I used them, so that made things a lot easier. I don’t really remember all the details, but overall it worked out fine.

"Canceling turned out to be easier than I expected"
I had to cancel my trip and was kind of dreading the whole process. EF told me exactly what they needed, kept me in the loop, and my refund showed up sooner than I thought it would. it was way less stressful than... well, most refund situations I’ve dealt with. Painless overall.

Paying for my trip only took a few minutes, and there weren’t any weird issues to deal with, which was a relief. I got the confirmation right away too, so yes, that part went perfectly fine.

I ran into a bit of an issue at first and wasn’t sure how long it would take to fix. I reached out to support, and after a little back and forth, they got everything sorted quickly. It ended up being way less stressful than I expected.

"Felt safe for most of the trip"
My daughter felt safe throughout most of the trip, and the guides checked in on everyone a lot, which I appreciated. There was one bus change that got a little confusing, and I kind of wondered if maybe something had been switched around last minute, but they got it sorted out quickly.

"Pretty sure this trip was a huge win for my kid"
My daughter went on an EF tour, i think she learned way more than she would have just sitting in class reading about it. Seeing the history and culture in person seemed to make everything click for her. She came home talking nonstop about the museums, the food, and even the people she met along the way. I can’t say every kid would have the exact same experience, but for us, it really felt worth it for the educational side.
